Anatomy and physiology is not the glamorous part of beauty training. It is the part that makes everything after it safe. Before you move into microneedling, chemical peels or injectables, you need to understand what sits underneath the skin you are treating, how the body responds to being treated, and why a treatment that suits one client is the wrong call for another.
This is where that understanding starts. It is a Level 3 course, so it assumes no prior knowledge — a good number of learners arrive having never studied anatomy before, and leave able to explain to a client exactly what their treatment is doing and why.

What the course covers
The syllabus runs from the building blocks up — cells and tissues, then how the body organises them into the systems a therapist actually needs to understand. Skin gets its own treatment: its structure, how it ages, and what that means for the treatments you will go on to offer.

How it is taught and assessed
One day at the academy in Ossett, with home study materials to work through in your own time either side of it, and a knowledge assessment to complete. Tutor support runs throughout — you are not handed a manual and left with it.
Groups are deliberately small. Anatomy is a subject where being able to stop and ask "but why does that matter for my client?" is the difference between passing an assessment and actually understanding the material.
Where it leads
Level 3 Anatomy & Physiology is the foundation the academy's advanced training is built on, and it is included as standard in the Skin Specialist Starter Package, the Skin Specialist Advanced Package and the Injectable Practitioner Package. If you already know you want to end up on one of those pathways, taking the package usually works out better than booking the parts separately.
If you are planning advanced or injectable training elsewhere, or arranging insurance, check what that provider or insurer asks for before you book. Entry requirements differ between them, and they are the only ones who can tell you what they will accept.

No. It is a beginner-level course and assumes no prior study. Many learners take it as the very first thing they do.
